Our County's most valuable resources are our employees. Over the past year, County employees have been faced with so many challenges and they have risen to the occasion time and time again. From responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, to emergencies related to hurricanes, to the tragic Surfside building collapse to the challenges our workforce faces each day, our employees not only get the job done, but they also thrive.

Building on Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s powerful Thrive305 civic engagement initiative, the Human Resources (HR) Department is launching an I THRIVE @ Miami-Dade County employee engagement initiative which is aimed at recognizing and highlighting our shared experiences not only as a workforce, but as a family. The initiative aims to recognize the great work of our employees and the leadership that guides and serves this community.

We want to make sure we highlight and share the stories from all corners of the County and from all departments. The website, miamidade.gov/ithrive, created by the Communications and Customer Experience (CCED), showcases employees from the Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) and the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) in addition to a team of volunteers working on a SURGE Team during the pandemic.

An online I THRIVE submittal form is available for all employees to share stories and pictures. This form can be accessed on any smart phone. Stories can also be emailed to ITHRIVE@miamidade.gov. Additionally, HR will be working with all Public Information Officers (PIOs) to collect stories and memorable mentions to share with our entire work family on the ITHRIVE site.

Our goal is to celebrate, engage and motivate our workforce to continue to serve our 305 community with the recognition they deserve. As the logo indicates, our Human Resources are our most valuable resources.
