May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Support is available for you if you struggle with emotional wellness. Close to one in four adults of every age, race and gender suffer from a mental health disorder each year in the US. According to the CDC, that’s 58.7 million working Americans.

The Employee Support Services section of the Human Resources Department’s Benefits Division is hosting Build Emotional Wellness and Thrive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, at the Stephen P. Clark Center on the 18th floor.

Visit the EAP’s Well Mind table for emotional wellness tips and more. Then, participate in one of our 45-minute yoga sessions in the wellness center on the 1st floor at 11:45 a.m. or 12:45 p.m.

There will be various community partners and businesses present.

To request materials in an accessible format, sign language interpreters, and any accommodation to participate in any County-sponsored program or meeting, contact Takia Burnett at 305-375-4585 or takia.burnett@miamidade.gov five days in advance to initiate your request. TTY users may also call 711 (Florida Relay Service).

If you are unable to attend, you can still participate in the monthly events. The EAP will be providing Mental Health Virtual Panels focused on mental health and emotional wellness weekly from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. We invite you to join us to learn more about navigating and supporting family mental health needs, managing trauma and stress, building compassion, and finding support.
