Celebrate the Annual International Coastal Cleanup Day at a Miami-Dade Park
September 13, 2024 — Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces

Miami-Dade Parks Live a park life

Join Miami-Dade Parks and millions of volunteers around the globe for the 39th Annual International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, Sept. 21, for the world's largest, one-day volunteer event committed to reducing marine debris along our oceans and waterways.

Since its beginning, more than 17 million volunteers have collected over 350 million pounds of trash. Thanks to volunteers around the world, International CoastalCleanup Day (ICC) has become a beacon of hope, leading and inspiring action in support of our ocean.

Spearheaded globally by the Ocean Conservancy, VolunteerCleanup.org organizes Miami-Dade County's local participation in this worldwide event.

In 2023, 3,000 volunteers collected 22,232 pounds of plastic trash from over 60 sites from shorelines, beaches and neighborhoods. Learn more details and sign-up for an ICC site.

Volunteers will be given a reusable tote bag with this year's marine animal theme, Magellanic Penguins. Also, a contest for uncovering the strangest thing will be held. Community service hours can be earned at participating parks.

Miami-Dade Parks is proud to serve volunteers and site captains from across the community at the following locations. Register now at a participating Miami-Dade Park near you.
