1-877-994-HELP (4357)Homeless individuals or those at risk to be homeless should first contact the Homeless Helpline so they can speak with an Outreach Specialist. Outreach Specialists maintain inventory to bed spaces available at many homeless shelters.
Do not provide direct numbers to homeless shelters as the person needs to be referred by a Homeless Helpline Outreach Specialist.
Menu Options on the Homeless Helpline (open Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm):Option 1: For those at risk of becoming homeless.
Option 2: For those fleeing or attempting to flee from domestic violence or human trafficking
Option 3: For veterans at risk of or experiencing homelessness
Option 4: For those experiencing homelessness in the City of Miami Beach
Option 5: For those experiencing homelessness in any other area of Miami-Dade County (this option is transferred to 311 on certain occasions)

Follow these directions when Option 5 of the Homeless Helpline is transferred to 311:
- Open a Homeless Referral – MD SR.
- Complete all the flex questions to better assist the customer
- An address is not required to open the SR but you can include an intersection or general area that the person is staying near.
- Advised customer that an Outreach Specialist will contact them within 2 days.
- Do not open additional SRs for the same person. Advise them to be patient as Outreach staff contacts each person individually.
- Review Unsheltered Homelessness tab on www.homelesstrust.org to provide locations of showers or food assistance.

Operated by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami. Provides assistance and appropriate referrals to individuals and families in the Miami-Dade county area to prevent homelessness.
Services offered include:
- Rent/mortgage assistance
- Food vouchers
- Utility assistance
- Case management including assessment and referrals
Eligibility Requirements:
- Resident of Miami-Dade County
- Homeless or at risk of homelessness
- Must have a notice of eviction or late payment for rent/mortgage, and/or utility.
- Provide proof of hardship

ALERT: July 2023 - Extreme heat conditions continue in Miami Dade County
Please be advised that the following is available:
- Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust may open emergency shelters for the homeless population. If someone requires assistance with homeless sheltering, they can contact the Miami-Dade County Homeless Helpline at 1 (877) 994-HELP (4357) or (305) 375-CARE (2273).
- All Miami-Dade Public Library System facilities have been identified as cooling sites, within their regular hours of operation. A list of after-hours sites has been provided.
- Select Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces will serve as cooling sites with adjusted hours of operation. A list of after-hours sites has been provided.

The Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust (HT) will activate their Cold Weather Emergency Plan when the National Weather Service has forecast temperatures at or below 50 degrees Fahrenheit in all of Miami-Dade County. As a result, HT will open shelters for the homeless population. The Miami-Dade County Office of Emergency Management and HT will monitor weather forecasts and provide additional notifications as conditions warrant. Individuals seeking a shelter during cold weather must call the Homeless Helpline.

Homeless Outreach Teams are in the streets on a regular basis speaking with homeless individuals.
The homeless are encouraged to seek shelter but the assistance is not always accepted and homeless individuals are not forced to enter a homeless shelter.

Homeless Services
Feed the Homeless Program, a street feeding project that takes place in two designated places where various organizations participate in feeding the homeless.
Toilets and trash receptacles are provides as well as emergency services.
In order to participate, registration is required with the Homeless Assistance Office: 305-576-9900 or 786-991-6829
Referrals
Request for service from a homeless person or family are handled within 24 hours. Wait time for shelter space can be from 1 day to three weeks depending on availability.
Homeless individuals should call the Homeless Helpline to be referred to the appropriate agency for help: 1-877-994-4357 (HELP)

Food AssistanceHot meals are provided to homeless and at-risk households throughout Miami-Dade County thanks in large part to community-based organizations and faith-based groups. Longtime hot meal sites serving primarily unsheltered individuals include:

Mail Services- Persons who are experiencing unsheltered homelessness can send and receive mail at Camillus House Monday - Friday from 11 a.m. to noon.

Unaccompanied youth and young adults who are facing housing instability and are between the ages of 13 and 24 can call the Helpline at 1-877-994-4357 and choose option 4 after selecting their preferred language.
Additionally, unaccompanied youth and young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 experiencing homelessness can visit any one of these access points:
